Vote for the Best Science Black Weblog Award, please

Urban Science Adventures! © was nominated for Best Science or Tech Blog again this year. As the sole science blog among the finalist this year, I would love for the blog to win the honor - and justify having separate Science and Tech Categories in the coming years. Many people and readers have reached to me and let me that they have voted already. Thank you, thank you, thank you. For those of you who have yet to vote, today is the last day.

What to know be fore voting:
1.Only one ballot is allowed per computer and email address. The ballot is 5 pages long. My blog and category are on page 4 so don't lose heart. I encourage you to vote in every category you wanted to vote in before submitting. A complete list of all finalist for the 38 catergories are here.
2. If you don't see a submit button, try pressing the tab key several times.

Winners will be announced live July 9, 2011 in Los Angeles. I will be there for the ceremony. If you would like to co-sponsor my attendance, then please consider making a donation. Any and all contributions are appreciated and give shout outs to my supporters!

Summer 2011 events

A few events coming up. See you at something.

Twilight Tuesday is on hiatus until August, but if you want to keep the party going then check out Climatron & Cocktails tomorrow.

Climatron and Cocktails - A Missouri Botanical Garden Young Friends event with St. Louis Public Radion Young Friends

Shakespeare in the Park is going on til Sunday June 19. Taming of the Shrew is the play this year and it is set to a 1950's theme. I thought it was pretty good. Check it out, any night but Tuesday. Pack your picnic baskets, wine, blankets and chairs. Free, family friendly.

Jungle Boogie - Free, Friday Nights concerts at the Zoo. fammily friendly. Every Friday this summer til Labor, expect this Friday June 17 for Zoofari - another event worth checking out. ($175 person for Young Zoo Friends - fundraiser for the Zoo featuring the O'Jays and Griffin & the Gargoyles as entertainment).

Saturday, June 18th from 4p-7p
Griot Garden Party ...this is a fundraiser for the Black History Museum and costs $50 to attend. The Garden party theme is a tea and ask ladies to wear a hat.

Wednesday, June 22 afterwork til 9:00 pm
Whitaker Music Festival kicks off next week. Free, outdoor concerts at the Missouri Botanical Garden. This is a summer tradition. Free addition tot he Garden after 5 including the Children's Garden. Pack a picnic and bring chairs, blanket. Family friendly.
