The second annual Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation Competition will close with this event, and the naming of the 2007 winning teams. Come see which teams will walk away with the combined $125,000 in funding! This event will feature keynote speaker Leslie D. Michelson, founder, CEO, investor, advisor and director for a portfolio of entrepreneurial healthcare, technology and real estate companies.

Thirst for Life – Benefiting PAWS (Pets are a Wonderful Support) and St. Louis Effort for AIDS. Before, I have served as a captain for the Dining Out for Life fundraiser and awareness campaign held in November. Now, there is a summer counterpart for the Sotty! Come on out!

Alberici Headquarters was a real treat.
That building is awesome. They capture rainwater to flush toilets. The employees have a free gym on site. They only grow native plants so they spend no money on unnecessary irrigation and everyone has a window view from his/her desk. AND Mr. Alberici doesn't have an office; his desk is at a cubicle. How egalitarian is that!
They presented a couple of speakers of some hotty-totty architects and designers that was worth some sort of architect continuing ed credit.
Science Frontiers is offering all types of other interesting adn FREE events throughout the city this summer. I've updated th summer calenadr to include some of thier events.
Oh, May concerts!!
Twilight Tuesday May 22 featuring Javier Mendoza was great. I admit, I was so busy socializing & enjoying everyone's company I didn't listen too closely to the performer. But I dod love his rythmic latin-inspired beats. His voice is nice, too. He'll be perfoming at other free venues this summer. DO check him out.
Jungle Boogie on May 25 featuring Ralph Butler Band. Regrettably it got rained in, so they perfomed inside the Living World. But the RB Band, featuring Teddy on Bass is always fun. They are an upbeat cover band that will cover almost ANYTHING. If it's popular they play it, and play it well - country, R&B, rock, even folk and hip-hop. Great faimily fun and terrific musicianship --- and Ralph has such a pleasant and honest smile. How can you sing and sway along. And a plus, people brought and enjoyed their own snacks & I saw few people sipping their own beer. SO next time, we can go and keep it affordable.
